Looking for some help with picture taking, I really enjoy it, and have been doing it for a while, but I'd like some criticism (constuctive preferrably!) on my pictures...
These a from a concert of a "punk rock" band i went to, think i captured some good moments...let me know what you think! #1 ![]() #2 ![]() #3 ![]() I know the glare on the mic stand should'nt be there..but i don't know how to get around that! #4 ![]() |

I don't see any pictures...?? I don't know if it's just my screen or something, but maybe you didn't post them correctly. Anyone else see them?
Would love to critique if I could see 'em! :-) -Michael- www.pbase.com/mikej86 |

to me #4 is definately the most interesting.. for shots like these, i like to give them a bit of a gritty monotone look to it... here is an example.. i just added noise to emulate a fast monochrome film and desaturated using a b&w plugin that mimiced kodak tri-x film..

In my opinion, you did a great job and actually easier in a small club setting like you were in and imo, I would crop the 1st picture to get rid of the top, lighting and all cuz its a lil distracting....all in all right you did a great job so keep posting and welcome to the forum

Don't worry too much about the light bloom on the microphone stand. You're going to get that on any highly reflective surface -- especially using flash. If it bugs you or others, you can minimize it quite a lot by using the cloning tool in almost any image editor. I use that to get rid of the worst reflections on people's eyeglasses. Actually, you can eliminate it entirely with cloning, but people expect to see such reflections under those conditions, so eliminating the effect all together would look unnatural.
