i think you fell into the trap of thinking you need to frame every shot.. this is easy to do, but you didnt need those tree limbs here really..i think you just shot this from too far back.. as it stands the barn is competing with the grain bin on the left and trees and blown sky for attention.. plus its too straight on, which gives this shot too much of a flat look...

i would get closer next time and shoot from enough of an angle to give the barn a 3-dimensional look.. also, i would work on the conversion a bit to bring out a bit more contrast..
