took this of my grandfather and tweaked it in ps, this version conveyed the emotion i wanted, at least to me. let me know what you think. the caption on my site was "the lights are on, but nobody's home"

i think you capture the mood you were trying for perfectly. it is a dark and dramatic shot. thank you for sharing this painful and personal image.

i like the mood and feeling to the shot as well.. i think the use of rimlighting was appropriate.. the only technical thing here is maybe have just leave just a bit more detail around the edges..

I like it. Not being able to see the detail on the face is good, it adds emotion.
style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"This is a great shot IMO. I cant really comment on technical stuff, but you certainly have the eye. |

It brings a tear to my eyes as 2 of my Aunts died from this and my mother is in mid stage although its a great picture it's a sad one for me but thanks for sharing this side of Alzheimers and the loneliness it brings and this is what the picture conveys to me IMO...But please believe, theres always a light on although it may be a little dimmer

![]() I think the photo conveys the situation very well. It is very soft however all over. Selectively sharpen even just an edge (even just a little, overdoing this would also not be right)would give an indication that it isn't just a blurry and bad photograph. No offense is meant by this, just an observation of my initial response, but I don't relate well to your chosen title. I think that reallynaff and without thoughtactually. Forgotten memories or At home in the dark. Anyway I'm sure you can think of something a little more sympathetic? All the best. |

I like the shot and the idea behind the shot.
My only comment is that i would have liked to see details in one eye at least. maybe the left one. |
