since i got a surreal feeling from this shot right from the get go, i toyed with curves a bit
and gave it a little more intencity; the sky is a little darker on the idges, the tree has a bit more color. i also got the feeling of looking out, probably from the overhanging branches, so i darkened the foreground a bit, giving it what i feel is a 'cave' look. i have only been using curves and other major editing tools for short time and am still learning, but i hope you can understand what i was going for here. scot |

hey E.S.
i can appreciate your idea here and i think you probably executed it quite well... its just a little more thani was going for in my original.. whereas the second art shot i was going for overthetop dreamy saturation.. this one i was going for a more subdued, subtle atmosphere.. which is part of the reason for the vignette.. still, your technique looks good.. ------- dustin www.hardwickphotos.com |

i kinda like both the versions here, the branches don't bother me...the water bothers me. i feel it should be either more blurred or less, it's kind of in between and isn't working for me. the rest of the composition, the saturation, the vignetting look great.

I like this.... (not the edit however - the original)
Take off the vignetting, more contrast required.. I also think you could pull more from the shadow details. Still you have a nice shot there. Pleasing |

I agree with Lboy. Nice shot.
Take off the vignetting. Please. It makes me feel queasy - like movies with Meg Ryan. Just a bit too sentimental and kitsch. You're too good a photographer for that sort of thing. :-) |

I don't thing the vignetting is a bad idea just to dominate here. It needs to be feathered more so the edge blends.
