i the 2nd shot.. you are shooting directly into the sun.. there is really not much you can do to prevent flare in some lenses when doing so.. the flags that i told you about work when the sun is above or to the side of the shot, like in the 1st image you posted..
btw- i do like that 2nd image quitea bit.. i think you could open up the foreground a little bit in photoshop to bring out more detail.. but the texture is nice in this one.. -dustin |

also using any filter increases your risk of flare.. so you may retry without the filter on it..
a multicoated filter is better than one that is not coated, but they will all increase your risk for flare.. |

Excuse me, but I don´t understand what "open up" means. I will do it without any filter next sunset shot.

i preffer the first version
the lens flare on that can be taken out with clone tool in photoshop, by selecting the right size brush and spray patterns, and spending a bit of time, zoom in to do it. id be more than willing to give it a go for u but would prob need full image |

belibeli,
when i said "open up" i meant make the shadows lighter.. so use the shadows/highlights tool and brighten the shadows.. or usea layer mask and brighten the whole image and then using the black brush unmask the sky to keep its darker colors.. ------ dustin www.hardwickphotos.com |
