Was flicking through my snaps from earlier in the year and came accross this. An English version perhaps. Certainly not so dramatic as Steve's.

i like this shot steve.. you found a nice interesting formation and presented it well.. the low position of the silhouetted horizon works nicely.. you know you can post bigger pictures if you want, say 600-700 pix on the long end, they will look more dramatic at that size i think..

Thankseveryone -I'mreallygratefulfor the encouraging comments this shot hasreceived. Makes me realiseI'm actually going forward!
Dustin I've always been a bit wary of posting too large an image (that's if the system will accept it in the first place) as I've always wondered if its not abit like typing in capital letters sometimes (sort ofcourtesy thing?). Anyway, slightly larger version of a differently timed shot of the same scene..... |

ahh.. much better.. now i can actually see it
![]() as long as you keep it under 700 pixels on the long side, it will not cause ppl to have to scroll to see it all as most of our monitors are at least 1024x768 in resolution... so the size you have reposted looks fine! dustin |

Thanks for the advice Dustin, will stick to this format from hereon (really hate it when you have to scroll across a post as I find it difficult to keep a perspective on the whole thing).

I think I prefer the original pic - with less cloud detail. Whether it's the spilling of light on the horizon or the hole in the clouds vacuuming it up, it's the horizontal/vertical interplay that catches my eye. The cloud details, IMHO, detract from the drama of this shot, even though they generally add depth and interest. Very good shot.

Thanks Kevin - think I prefer the original too, but I do think the bigger size & enhancedlighting around the 'window'renders an aura of an omnipotent presence - a glimpse of the realm of God so to speak(there endeth the sermon for this week!)
