Went to my local woods early one morning and was lucky to have plenty of sun rays bouncing through the trees to practice on.

Not bad for an Essex girl.
Sorry I couldn't resist that. This is a nice shot. I tried something very similar but it didn't work so well. I like it a lot. Regards ISoS P.S. You're a doggy person too so that makes everything fine. |

its a lovely scene.. i did a minor edit here for you.. boosted saturation a little, warmed up a smidgen and opened up the shadows and such for a little more dynamic range.. would have worked a little better with a full size image, but you get the idea..

Yes i can see the difference, i had actually boosted the saturation a tad but had'nt worked on the shadow levels, i was wondering whether the tree trunks were too dark, and you have answered the question. Oh and not being very good yet at working out resizing etc the picture was put in forum at required size approx 237KB and came up as shown? Thankyou.

when posting on the forum, the best resize method is to..
first resize your photo to about 700 pixels on the long end.. then when you save, you adjust the degree of .jpg compression until it is under 250.. this one is just a bit too small.. |

Very appealing shot - almost dream-like. An excellent capture. My only comment would be maybe crop the right side of the image tighter to make the sun appear out of the corner of the image shining down on the whole scene.

With lights and great shadows, I think this one is a difficult one. I must say you have made a great leap. Thanks for sharing.
