What were you doing to that poor Rhino when you took this?

Not enough judging by the bored expression
![]() Thanks for answering my question by the way. Guess I'll just have to wait for Dales's input. |

I like it - nice and sharp from shoulders to face, not underexposed as rhinos and elephants often are. It's not a typical perspective, so makes it more memorable than one of the usual side shots and still draws attention to the face. For some reason, the expression reminds me of Marvin, the depressed robot in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the books, not the movie).

Thanks Kevin - much appreciated. Feel it's a little tight on the top but that was lousy composition on my part.

I like the details. Maybe you should have moved a bit to the right in terms of composition but...I feel still I feel this angle is right. See what others say. Kind regards. Jaki

Thanks again Jaki, was hoping to give an impression of size but I don't think I really succeeded on that front and as you know, they're not exactly the most accomodating of animals.

No, this guy just wandered in and plonked himself down right outsidethedoor of my hut ..................
:G:G:G Yup, Jhb Zoo - not my favourite place as I hate seeing animals confined and out of their natural habitat, but it does provide quite aphoto-walk around opportunity. I sometimes think the wrong type of animal are on the inside. |

I totally agree with your zoo sentiments Steve.
The perspective really does work here. This is a shot that I could imagine seeing in a magazine ~ it is very good. It amazes me how you South African's manage to operate camerars as they can be a little complicated ~ a bit like playing cricket I guess. |
