I think this should be posted in the Landscape forum but you guys give the best Critiques. I tried to capture the feeling of a cold storm in an otherwise hot, dry desert. The heavy dark clouds covering the light dusting of snow on the hills captured that effectto me. Would you have done anything different should this occasion arise for me again?
Thanks. ![]() |

I think I would try a crop. Maybe turn it into a pano. Cut off the bottom at the gully (valley?) and then cut off the sky so the mountain tops appear at the bottom 1/3 line. I think that would showcase that powerful sky more effectively and might emphasize the diagonal line within the dark clouds. Nice image

I did not think that with such weather one can take a cool picture. Terrific! Well done! RedRhino's point might improve it even better. Regards. Jaki

You captured some amazing clouds here. I think the edit helps to emphasize them.

I'm in two minds as to which of the above versions I prefer. One thing I must say though, is wow, THE SKY!!! It's a really powerful image.

That's really an inspiring image, Old Jim. The beauty of the mountains could best be related with a panoramic view,as Red Rhino suggested. Moreover, both the characteristics of the clouds and the landscape should be preserved equally with their least essentials, I believe. Here's just another try.
