here's a few high contrast b&w's from today.
i know some of you don't go for black and white photography, so please bare with me. i guess i am going for artistic merit here (have you seen what some of these are going for in galery's?!) |

I do like these images, so please do take these as harsh criticisms.
#1 The post at the right 1/3 vertical is too dark. I think there is information there you may be able to recover with post porcessing. There are some nice lines and textures within this image. #2 Out of the 3, this one attracts most of my attention but I am distracted by the parts of the image that are blurred on the outside edges. The horizontal edges also seem to be tilted. Despite the technical issues... I find this one strangely compelling and it evokes the most emotional response!!! #3 Technically the strongest. I like the composition, the patterns, and textures but it lacks heart. IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE? |

Master Scot, I do like b&W very much. I am in with RedRhino. Mr. Dustin, if you can look at some of his B&W has the coolest B&W I have ever seen. The contrast is perfect. Unfortunately I don't remember his Url. Will look and let you know.
I just enjoy your adventurous spirit, that is what will make you a great photographer. Keep the spirit up. Regards. Jaki. |

Nice effect, Scot. From time to time I see your artistic side burst, and here's a serial examples again.
The first one appeals to me, especially. Well done:-) |

i like all 3. the 1st one is my fave of this group but they are all nice, B&W images with nice light and composition. there is also alot of rich texture and detail to catch the eye in all 3- nice series.
