The background rose is a distraction. If there were several scattered throughout the frame, background flowers may not be as distracting.

The image is slightly under exposed which cause it to look somewhat dull and boring. Learn to use manual exposure mode to achieve the best results.

Overall, it isn't a bad attempt.

This is a lovely shot

Great deep colours. i feel the exposure in this shot is fine. Again it is nice to see detail in the petals and not blown out. I do find the back rose distracting as it takes away the contrast against the main rose. A tighter crop with tht back rose gone and i think you have a winner

i really like the shot as-is, steve.

the rose in the bg gives it a sence of depth.

maybe a frame?
