While photographing the Ospreys on the Island I was on,I came across this Red Tail Hawk just hanging out enjoying the day.

Another great shot.

I do IMHO feel the blue is a bit overdone. (could be my monitor)

These types of shots are certainly a challenge and you have done well capturing this hawk.

I too feel the sky is a bit too saturated. Of course, the overdone version hides more of the CA on the branches.

I also feel cropping more from the left side of the frame will give this image more impact. Cloning out some of the branches wouldn't hurt either because too many really doesn't add anything to the composition. I'll post a quick edit for demonstration...I hope you do not mind.

Thanks for sharing!

It's very blue. I hope you don't mind, but i had a fiddle with the blue, replaced the colour with a less saturated one. It must have been a very blue sky! Cheers -Yaz

Ha Ha, Rodney! Must have just got in before me!

Although a good photo I think the edited versions are much better. The over blue sky hid to much of the detail in the RT Hawk.Keep posting I like your work.

this is a great shot

I too feel the sky is too blue. Is this altered and did yuo use polar filter for this shot.

I like yazzyz edit of the shot

Other than that image is nice and sharp

Personally I like the really blue sky. It contrasts nicely with the branches. The others seem rather faded. Also the blue contrasts with the red of the hawk to accentuate its color and make it less of a featureless brown.

i take this back, i orig viewed the shot on my lcd monitor at work now i look at it on my calibrated monitor at home the orig looks awesome.; The blue is unusually deep but it really makes the image striking.

I'll have to have a peek when I get home now... i don't mind it with the darker blue at all.. must have been a perfect day. It also makes the bird stand out so much more!
