Just an opinion, I think this needed more contrast. Part of the stamen is in focus but wish there was more contrast in the shot. Regards. Jaki

Yes... I agree with Jaki. Playing with PS levels may pull some extra contrast out.

The contrasty second one is surely better, if you ask me. It's nice to see the same pentax camera which you blamed for having a blurring tendancy in macro in your previous post 'uh oh flower', does quıte a decent job this time. The camera is equipped with a 5mp 1/1.8 sensor which is expected to give clean crisp images, I think.
Maybe you can be generous enough to provide the color version of this cute shot... ![]() |

unfortunately, the camera was dropped and then mended before i got it and it
has never been the same since. it's hit and miss with the macro, but i am still having focusing problems in s. macro. i'm also having a dof problem in macro. the setting is at it's widest ( i think. used camera, no manual) on all of the shots taken and it seems to me that it feels a bit tight. here's the original... |

Just beautiful! If you were nearby, I would lend mine to you to see many more beautiful macro flower shots like this:-)
By the way, it just came to my attention that you used a smaller aperture f=6.5 in the uh oh flower but relatively a larger aperture of f=4.8 in this superior one. Could it be that the inferior focus is due to greater ratio of diffracted light to the intended incoming light through the smaller aperture? According to my personal experience, larger aperture with a decent shutter speed tend to give crisper results. Well I also have a small camera, those SLR ones may not suffer from this issue. :?: |
