I like the fact that this is abstruct photography. the colour pattern seem to combine well. I notice that the top of the picture seems to be out of focus, is this a common phenomenon with macro photography. In my photos it seems that the center of focus seems to be very concentrated and in most cases leaving the larger part of the photo out of focus. Just learning from you being a complete junior.

you really need to stop down quite a bit during macro shots to get the depth of field you want... and with stopping down usually come slow enough shutter speeds to warrant a tripod..
