I remember as a Kid having quite a nice collection of marlbes, many not being the traditional type and quite interesting. Wish I still had them to try something like this out. However, one unusual find I have is a perfectly round marble sized object made of seemingly age "fired" clay. What makes it unusual I guess, is that I found it along an old track on the ancient "Ridgeway" miles and miles away from any form of modern civilisation. I'm going to try some macro shots using it as the subject and will post one or two.
Syd P.S Send the daquiries to Stevedak and he can put them in my next shipment container of specialized banana seeds. :-) |

I need a crystal ball now! I was just thinking that a macro lens and an ice cube in a glass of scotch would be really interesting, but with a crystal ball you don't even need a macro lens. Well done. I'll have to attempt a shot like that.

these were all taken i macro, actually.
anything i shoot within three or four feet, i shoot in macro and the results are rather nice. with super mac, i can get the lens to within about a half inch (about two cm) of the subject and the results are usually pretty amazing. as for the subject, syd hit it right on the nose when he guessed "ornamental glass paperweight thingy" out on the beach looking at the sunset. thanks for the interest, everyone. will be experimenting more and will post the winners. scot |
