Default Beachcomber in B&W

While walking along the pier I spotted this treasure hunter below me in the early morning hours. I thought a B&W suited the scene. Here is the color version.

And here is the B&W conversion. Your thoughts?

The 'color' version is almost an 'off sepia' monotone.
I prefer it over the b&w conversion.

Because of the dearth of color information content of the photo, it is difficult to do much with it. Another possibility would be to try to aply some type of photo effect ( eg, BW HDR).

Great shot Walter, I love the colour version, for me the golden colour of the sand makes it much better than the B&W version.

The color version gets my vote as well. It makes me “feel” better than the black and white.

G'day Walter

Your colour version is damn-near mono anyway .... just has a tiny gold streak thru it
That's the one I would show off to your mates
