Using camera settings how do I remove the yellow glow from around the candle flame? The camera used was a Canon A620 set to f-8. Please comment as needed.

Try dialing down the exposure quite a lot.

It may also be lens ghosting/flare which points to the quality of the glass and elements. The sensor size is also a posibility. These two photos of candle flame is from the Panasonic FZ20 and Canon 20d, 17 - 85mm.
