Can't say I see anything wrong with it if the goal was to capture the eye.. I do notice, and perhaps it was intentional, the DOF gets lost about mid way into the dogs (?) nose..

That dogs givin' you the "hairy eyeball"! :lol:But other than that? Looks alright to me....Best regards,

Oops, I hit send too soon. What I mean, in a rephrasing sort of way, is that the hairs around her eye are really well focused, and the colors in her eye compliment the hair color as well. Nice combo IMHO, can't see any detail in the eye that I can make out, reflection wise.

What is Cassie looking up at? You can feel the love:-)

Hello Vito,

This is a nicely executed picture! You've done an amazing job of leading the viewer to the intended center of interest(the eye).

Hair detail and shadows create interest without distraction and lead back to the center of interest.

thanks guys :)

yea, i was just going for an eye shot :)

i was very pleased with the sharpness on her eye...and i don't think the shallow dof hurts anything...

thanks for looking all! i appreciate your comments!

Nicely executed shot! I do lots of pet portraits and many are narrowly focused in a limited context which has meaning only to the owners/companions. This would be an interesting one in a collage of similar pics or arranged around a more complete image of the subject. I certainly appreciate it in terms of the "eyes are the windows of the soul ...." perspective.
