I don't like how his eyes glowed because of the flash, but other than that I dunno anyone else who could get a shot like this other than myself haha. Is there a way to use flash without his eyes glowing? (I hope that wasn't a dumb question...)

Given the anatomy of a dogs eye any direct light from the front is going to reflect back. This is what lets them see so well in the dark. The same but even more so for cats. There might be specific colors that are less of a problem and if you can find one them a filter can be put over the flash. Otherwise you need to stick with side lighting that doesn't reflect back to the camera. However, if you take a close up of the eyes without a flash you can selective crop the eyes and resive/shape/angle for insertion into an image containing blown eyes.

Oh yeah, in CS2 shadows/highlights can save a partially blown eye. Fully blown, nothing to save.
