pretty good for hand held, though even this one would benefit greatly from a tripod. nice composition, though, and a good exposure... not too dark, but not to overlit...

use a tripod and a larger aperture to capture all the detail, maybe a longer exposure too. i was going to suggest putting like a star filter on your lens to make the lights look cool but i'm not familiar with your camera so maybe that's not a possibility. either way....

i think you know what i meant.
i know how apertures work and i usually say larger meaning a larger number. i'm sorry if what i said confused you but i think you knew what i was saying. |

Thanks for the post backs. A tripod is the next item on my list along with a TCON-17.

Like Mike and Squirl have intimated, a tripod in such photos is a must Otherwise use any other stable environment such as a bean or rice bag. Not bad for a start but you could do better.
Kind regards. |

sorry, i just figured you might have gotten them backwards. however, to most people, a larger "aperture" means just that... as opposed to a larger "F-stop number". just trying to make sure it's clear - forJTF's benefit, not anyone else's.

I let the cameraselect the settins, it was on auto night mode. Next try will be with a tripod; higher ISO and I'll pay attention to aperture. Thanks.
