I noticed that Slipes edit has that exact same black border that I had when I used Magic Wand. Unfortunately, the only way I knew how to get rid of it was zoom way in and Clone tool it out a little bit at a time. =(

Thought I would try something different. The working image was way too small for me to have all the lamps lit correctly. and the moon is too large, but just a playful idea . . .

One method I use a lot in PS for highlighting clouds in bright skies is:
- make a duplicate layer of the photo - change it from a "normal" layer to a "multiply" layer type - add a layer mask to the new layer - use the linear gradient tool to fade the new layer mask from top to bottom (so only the upper part of the image is visible in the new layer). - use the "opacity" slider to vary how much of the new layer that you want to add to the original image The result is a quick, perfectly blended, darkened top half of the image showing much more detail in the sky. It will, however, also darken the tops of the buildings, trees, mountains etc that stick out into the sky, but often that is not a problem. A bit like a split density filter, and you don't have to fiddle with magic wand selections. Cheers, Ollie :-) |

Exactly what I would have done, along with some level and colour hue fixes...Looking good [email protected]! Very simple fix and it looks a bit more realistic!Cheers-Yaz
