I noticed that this stone resembled a face if you use the snail as a reference point.

Shot taken with the Canon Powershot S2 IS, 1/6 - F8.0.

The IS doesn't seem to work very well on either modes, so it did take me 5 tries to get this photo.

I see you have an eye for detail. If you took this, hand held at 1/15th sec, the IS was doing its work.

The face in the stone would be more apparent if the background was more blurred, or, better yet, if you had moved the stone to a different background, such as grass or sand. It is also a little too much in the center of the frame. Although this is how we often take pictures, to insure we include everything of interest, when we prepare them for viewing, we mostly crop using the 'rule of thirds'. This rule will most often give the most pleasing presentation.

Welcome to the forum. and do continue posting pictures. You will get varied opinions, and some of us may be a bit blunt at times, or assume you know more (or less) than you do, but don't get discouraged.

i agree with brian.

i like your perspective.

i have a few similar, but what caught my attention was the fact you stuck with it.

five attempts to get a shot!

i will tell you this. keep up this objective.

you obviously have the "eye" and perserverence.

keep on shooting!

Thanks for the encouragement guys !

I will be much more careful with these sort of macro images, as I damaged my S2 lenses because I went too close to the stone to get this picture .....

So sorry to hear that you damaged the lens.
These things just happen for the sake of photography, which make you a veteran already!
I just applied a little USM and very slight cropping on the righthandside. Some may argue if stones can be considered live after having seen your shot..
