i love the composition and the feel of it. the sky seems just a bit washed out, overall a very nice shot.

I think i have to agree with Julies about the sky, if you could darken ita little to see if you can get back the top of the roof of the shed as it seems to be disappearing into the sky *maybe some one else could explain it better*.
Ido likethe composition and the feelof the photo. Alan |

I think this is a great effort. i don't have any issues with the washed out sky...it is only a supporting element, and if it were too blue I think it would detract from the vivid colors in the foreground. I enjoy using filters during post work on images such as this...attached is one that I find appealing. I hope you don't mind.

These edits in photoshop are interesting, but in my opinion it is now no longer a photograph.
I think the shot is not a bad effort. I do however think the point of interest is the barn to a higher extent than the flowers and you should have reversed you focal point. Composition is subjective so at the end its up to you. And for everything that is said you can produce the exceptional winner that break the general rule.I did feel a slight annoyance at the barn being blurred background. The intent of background is to be just that and not to draw attention but to complement other features.. There are a lot of techniques that use elements of out of focus that can draw the attention in a good way to enhance a shot in say a contradictory way toother aspects. Or to indeed convey movement or mystery. Its not happening for me here. Its ok but not a "winner' for me that gives me the feel I want to look at it again and again. sorry. LB |

I do get your point, I thought the shed was in focus (it was a quick shot while I was working) but I admit I was focusing on the the composistion and flowers. Only when I got home I found the shed was blurred, maybe I will try this shot again.:-)
