Julie your composition in this shot is right on in every aspect! You worked a great balance! I like the fact that you have a foreground, midgroaund, and background, it gives me lots of time to look at it, and a lot to analyze and admire! I think it's great the way it is, but if you would really like the focus to be "the country shed" you might want to (like stated before) change the aperture as to get everything in focus. Although I personally like the way you have it right now

I just spent the last twenty minutes looking and re-looking at this image. Yeah it's not the sharpest and it kinda lends in to the filtering...But, I do believe it stands pretty strong in it's own right.
Have you heard of a dude named P. H. Emerson? A British surgeon he started playing with imaging (photography) in 1882. He had his first major show in 1886. What made his work different (and new) from his contemporaries at the time was what he called "The Naturalistic Way of the Lens". In this syntax he let focus fall in the image where it complemented the composition. This really went against the contemporary thought at the time which was that photos are not art, and they should be relegated to being precise artifacts of documentation. It's funny, that kinda noise just never goes away. Just gets reinvented. I really think you nailed this image. Maybe a little tweaking on the background density. Outside of that why don't you look up Peter Henry Emerson. You have something in common. TDT |

Thanks, I had a look at one of his sites and would agree, the way he composes a photo remind me of how I would do so. Not sure if I have anything else in common with him though.:-) |

very pretty. sky looks fine. my eyes keep going from flower to shed and back. that is very distracting for me. maybe an angle from further right that seperated the two would be better for me. or from a higher angle so the flowers are beneath the shed.
