For me, the action seems a bit too frozen... from the image, you can't tell that the cyclist is actually moving.

Besides, I think that you could've made the framing a bit wider, as it seems a little squeezed now.

Other than that - great shot! :cool:

I agree with Axelarge, the image is too frozen and stiff looking. You don't even see any indication of motion from the tires. Try some panning or slower shutter speeds.

While it's a very nice clean shot, it doesn't look very exciting Terry, but I expect the settings you had your 20D at, coupled with the cyclist not being far from you and probably not moving very fast, meant you almost couldn't avoid getting him so static with no blur. You would probably have had to jump up and down, or side to side.Looks like it was shot in portrait mode. Does that explain the crop ?

Ha ha Stevekin that was cool!

I agree the shot is a little too close cropped.

I shoot for a local paper, and they will take one or two shots panned, but after a while it gets a little old, the panning technique.

Will post a few more shots from my second outing.
