nasty old deck...
interesting leaf... waddaya'll think? and yes, i know the dof is rather consentrated towards the upper left hand side of the leaf, but i like the contrast between the sharp and unfocussed. |

The truth is that I like this one but I don't know why it is not completely alright. I think it is the DOF. I was just wondering what it would have been like had a DOF that shows even the details on the wood. As the for colour contrast I think it ticks.

the color is great..
but the compostion lets you down.. its too tight.. i think if you had pulled back a little it would have emphasized the texture difference between the deck and leaf.. it would have also allowed you enough dof to keep the leaf sharp and more of the deck sharp to emphasize this texture difference.. then the deck could have trailed off into blur in the background.. |
