This is a nice shot. I like the contrast you have here, as well as the framing. The tree in the middle, Im not to sure about. It draws much attention away from the man....

great shot. i dont think the tree is much of a problem as you couldn't do much about it anyway short of digging it up and transplanting it. although the photoshop magicians here could probably make it go away for you.
cool shot though works great in BW.

I really like it and think removing the treewould take something away fromthe picture. There is a bit of symmetry there - the curve of the tree is the opposite of the mans back, he's sitting on a round wall balanced by the circle in the patio around the tree. Maybe it's stretching things, but the tree is young, the man is oldyet neither appear that they will move for some time.

With photographs this good there is no need for critique. The word changes to "appreciation"

This is a really lovely photograph, full of character and expression.

As I've never been one that holds true or particularly thinks that it is important to isolate on one subject, I have absolutely no problem with the tree.

As this also happens to be an aspect ratio thatI love, it adds all the more appeal to me. You have almost managed to capture the warm relaxed nature of this Gent in a way that makes you feel you know him.

I like the relaxed pose, resting walking stick.

Love the trace of cigarette in mouth having just been lit, lighter going back in pocket, as he sits to appreciate the view.

Nice shot, tree works well, ballances the picture. Your shot could use punchy contrast to make its point, dont be afraid to experiment, kick up the contrast and see what i mean, all the way up.
