lol, i'm following you...but your taste is just different than mine...
your frame is too big for my taste..and although it does work well, it's rough of the internet, because of limits on sizes (on two of the sites i'm on have 650px limits) and people with lower rez monitors.. i'm really just going for simple and thin...to keep the focus on the photo.. vito |

The simple and thin you have shared didn't keep the focus on the photo which is why we are having this exchange. :-) Anyway, good luck with your web gallery. I look forward to veiwing it. Rodney |

Vito-
I think this is a great photo. Good composition and great contrast. I also love the texture of the asphalt. I also like your first attempt with the framing. For me, my eye goes right to the subject. Very interesting shot. |

Here is contrast mask of my edited version. As you can see, the evergreen has more of a presence here.

Vito, I prefer the second version from your Sat Apr 2nd, 2005 07:13 pm post.
The thinner black border in that one seemsto work better at drawingmy attention to the subject versus the border, and the thin colored line around it works great with the color of your subject. The versions with wider (or lighter) borders seem to draw my attention to the border instead of the subject. |

Thanks for the examples, Rodney. I haven't gotten past the "slap a pic on the web" stage, but I see the logic of your presentation.
