I took this last fall while camping. New at this. I did enhance the color and blur the water. Opinions Much Appreciated.

doesn't look like you're THAT new to it. this is a very cool image. seems sharp. pretty good composition. i might suggest getting an angle that is lower to the ground and closer to the water but i think this photo works fairly well as it is.

looks like a nice shot to me. I dont see any exif data but I assume when you say the water was blurred you did this in post. Have you tried setting the shutter speed to get the blurring effect on moving water?

Thanks...Glad you liked it. I have used a longer shutter speed in the past but it was a cold rainy day and I took this shot rather quickly.
Here it is with the Exif data...When resizing I had inadvertantly removed it out of the file. |

its a good first shot.. no doubt..
i think the tree ruins the flow a bit maybe.. and exploring some angles closer to the river or closer to the bridge might have worked out as well.. welcome and look forward to more! dustin |

Welcome to the forum. Sharp, good lighting, good composition, except for that truck. Have you tried cloning. Other angles of shooting might also be productive. Thanks.

Quite nice....Nice exposure accross the photo (appart from the tree).
The tree annoys me a bit. You cant remove it but you can make it less obtrusive. Try and dodgeit down. If you use photoshop that is. Or selectively reduce its contrast, either way. |

Actually...I did take several quick shots that day. Here is a different one. Is this better?

Compositionally wise I prefer the first. You have a faster shutter on the second therefore not as nice a water flow.
The first I just like more. I like the bank and the rocks. I'd just lighten the tree to make it sit better with the other tones. |
