your compositions and colors in both are great....but the cars do bother me. for me they detract from otherwise nice pics.

thanks for commenting julie!! ;)

as i mentioned in the other pic.. i could have cloned out the cars pretty easily i guess... i just left them in there to contrast with nature and show that there is still some beauty in the populated areas even if there are ppl around..

Just curious what camera and lens did you use?

Hards80 Nov 3, 2005 6:03 PM

used a 20d with a tokina 12-24 f4 set at 12mm at an aperture of f13.. shutter speeds were in the 1/150ish range..

I like the other shot much better. The lighting here looks really harsh... to the point that the details seem blow out.

Hards80 Nov 3, 2005 6:42 PM

the lighting was VERY harsh on this shot... the other shot the sun was diffused a bit by a whispy cloud... it was gone by the time i shot this one.. but i did the best i could to work with what i had here.. :)

thanks widow

Doing this on the fly so to speak I find it to be a great shot with good saturated color. Possibly the use of ev bracket shooting then blending it in PSand/or using a ND filter could have helped with the harsh lighting.

Other than that I would have maybe tried a couple of steps to the right on this shot.

I like the foreground which gives perspective in the shot and the cars don't detract at all.

An excellent shot from your school. Nice campus.

thanks Vizinquest..

this one i exposed for the sky and brought out the rest in my conversion.. isn't the best way to do it.. but my ND's with slim holder haven't arrived yet for my 12-24.. still, if you saw the original, it doesnt look bad ;)

actually i think i do have this shot from a couple steps to the right to get the diminishing row of trees in it.. let me look that up after lab today and see how it looks!
