I was playing with fill flash and would like some input on what I can do to improve these pictures, or I should say,my outdoor portriat skill. I was using my Kit lens on my Digital Rebel Xt. My cheapy tripod and my 430ex speed light.
The images have been scaled for viewing ease. http://r0ger.homedns.org:11000/j1.jpg http://r0ger.homedns.org:11000/j2.jpg http://r0ger.homedns.org:11000/j3.jpg http://r0ger.homedns.org:11000/j4.jpg http://r0ger.homedns.org:11000/man%20on%20slide.jpg |

Hi!
Good start with outdoor portraits! :-) I ran one of the photos through 2 programs & posed below at 75% First, I cropped it a bit to show more person & less forrest. 1. Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 (Under $100) - I used the default settings for the following fixes: Color, Saturation, Skin Tone, Levels, Brightness and Contrast. 2. Noiseware Community Edition (FREE) - I used the Portrait setting to smooth the subject's face, jacket and background. http://www.imagenomic.com/download.asp Good Luck! |

If I manage to pickup these programs, what settings did you use / change to get at that point?

Adobe Photoshop Elelments 4.0 - Under "Enhancements", click 'Default", Also, bump Saturation to +6 and adjest Skin Tone (use the eye dropper & click on the face) Noiseware Community Edition - Click "Default" **Pick up the book by Scott Kelby - he's the guru of Photoshop & Elements** http://shop.scottkelbybooks.com/?mai...4f923babbcc36b Good Luck! :G |
