Great.
I see you have edited the second shot too, to take out the heel. It look much better to me now. This is now a very good image in my opinion. Lovely lines. |

Yes and thanks for the advise. It helped alot. I didn't think a third version was necessary for a small edit, even though it did make a big difference.

Isn't it amazing, the post has "nude" in the title and it gets the most hits and the most replies on the page! But hang on... what am I doing here...?
I like the edit- wasn't too keen on the first shot. I thought the hand looked unnatural. I do like the shades of b+w achieved ... would you be so kind to explain the lighting you used for this please? Thanks... |

Thanks Dom and Julie. I tried different light setups. I think on this one I ended up using two lights, one with a softbox and the other using umbrella. The box was actually aimed at the floor well iin front of where here head is positioned. I wouldn't say it was a bounced flash but more like using half of the softbox. This is why the top fo the breasts and top of the leg are brighter. The umbrella was off to her right and bounced off the ceiling to lightly fill in the shadow.

Thanks widow - I am currently trying to convince my lady to help me practice the artier shots! :-) Just one last question, was the black background digitally added or is it a real backdrop?
Thanks again, Dom |

There are actually two pieces of backdrop. One is borrowed and some material Im not sure of but it tends to be reflective. I purchased a piece of black flannel at walmart. Its placed on top of the other material and only large enough for her to lay on. I knew most of the light would be right around her so I wanted to cover any of the reflective backdrop.

The latter photo seems to have done more harm than good. I don't mind about her looking away but it comes across as though she were obviously unconformtable. Why would that be the case. But the effort is appreciated.
