these are my first shots w/ my new dSLR, so i know i have quite a bit to learn to perfect. it was taken w/out a tripod, because i forgot the connection adapter like an idiot and had to handhold the 2second shutter shots.
anyway, just tell me what you think. this was definitely a great learning experience, and let me know i have tons more to learn about this camera. of the 140 pics i took , about 20 had good focus. not good odds, but it'll get better. i guess a tripod would have done wonders ![]() take care. -Jon Rowe [email protected] http://www.magnolia-net.com/~jedmag/photography/ |

you really need a tripod to blur water on a waterfall shot.. there is simply no way around this fact.. when you get much below 1/shutterspeed, the quality of your shots will deteriorate quickly without a good support.. and these shots really do demonstrate camera shake and are just too soft.. try these again with a tripod and maybe at sunset or sunrise as well to make the lighting more interesting..
thanks for sharing. dustin |

But for handheld at 2 sec -- not bad at all! I'm way too shaky to hold that long!!

yeah, it really pissed me off leaving that tripod adapter at home. it's only 1 1/2 hours from home, so i'll go back some weekend and get some. these were taken right after sunrise, about 6:30. it was gorgeous.
thanks -jon rowe here's another shot |

one more of a bridge i took a pic of while on the way to the falls. this was seconds after sunrise, and only post processing done was minor cloning and black and white conversion w/ some contrast adjustments.
tell me what you think. |

nice conversion on the bridge shot.. and i like that you didnt shoot it straight on, this adds interest and sets it apart from the miriads of walkway shots..
