Im always looking for a unbias opinon of my work. some one please be honest.

This shot is about as flat as a TV screen. You have two contrasting colors, one bland, the other too dark for any detail. Its too light to silhouette, and the whole thing is soft, and there is nothing to invite investigation or interest.

Please....don't let my opine bother you, or rob you of photographing pleasure, I'm just answering your call.

Thanks the truth, how about this one

The sky is wonderful, rich and moody. The stack, lighting poles, and other associated FG just subtract from such a pretty exposure. Perhaps you could just use one element in the foreground, like a tree, etc, to give it another dimension....but this FG adds nothing, IMHO.

just clone out the two poles in the middle and you got yourself a decent picture

Here is my take on your second shot.

The biggest problem with your first shot, is that the foreground is too dark, leaving the (presumed) subject, the fishing boat in shadow. Some editing could do a world of good. I tried a quick use of HDR in Photoimpact, rotated slightly, then cropped and resized.
You got the colors perfect in your sunset shot, but the foreground, as mentioned, detracts.

Keep in mind that I'm a beginner so I may not have a clue , but to me the biggest problem with the first shot is there is too much sky. You can somewhat edit the rest of the shot to make it look better.



In lightroom: Epxposure +17, Tint +13, exposure +.32, fill light 15, contrast +31, Vibrance ++29, Saturationi +26, cropped some of the sky out. I like the colors in your 2nd picture.
