I am not sure If this is a world wide practice but over here in South Africa often when people die in car accidents, motorcycle accidents or pedestrians get hit and killed by vehicles, often family go to place a cross or flowers at the spot in the road where it happened. I always saw these and never gave them much thought but now that I am able to take photos I thought I would give it a try.
