I was out early the other night and spotted this photo. I thought it looked interesting so out came the camera to capture it. That is when I started to have a problem. No mater how I exposed the photo I could not get it right. I took the best one (2 sec @ f4.5) home and worked on it the next day. The best I could do with the photo was to make it 2 layers. One layer was the darker parts and the second was the bright part (the Moon). Even doing this it still was not right. The main part of the building is OK but the lighted part of the inside of the bell tower is over exposed and the Moon is so over exposed that it is flaring out around it. What I wanted was a photo that looked like what I could see with my eyes. I used the photos that I took the night before and did some math. To get the Moon and all parts of the tower I would need a minimum of 16 stops (18 would be better)! The camera will only do 4 stops.

I like this one as well but something is missing. I can't put my finger on it so it will be interesting to wait and see the other comments.
