I somehow agree with Norm in Fujimo, the original seems to have lack a clarity of vision or subject. The rock on the foreground seemed to be distracting and the girl, whose suppose to be central subject seems off. Just what redundo have observed. When I looked at the original, it takes me a while to focus on the girl, and when I'm focus on her, I tend to think "she's lost". I was trying to crop it in such a way that when people look at the picture, the first thing to come into their mind is "she's tired". Also, I didn't really like having the "leaving the action" with the girl near the end of the pict in the original.

As for the painting-effect, actually it's not that much. It's actually tall grasses blown by strong winds and a normal shutter speed. Enlargement of the crop made it a bit wierd with the painting-like background and a sharp foreground, so I decide to match it a bit.
