I like the photo. Good color. Nice frame as well. DOF looks bit weird, or it's just my eye?

The broad leaf to the upper right is distracting and there are too many flowers (looks busy). The DOF looks weird due to the many flowers at different depths. The frame is good but the line thickness is distracting to me. It should be even all around for my tastes.
It looks good but the multitude of flowers is a bit much in this shot. |

Compositions as this can be a challenge. I don't see that anything in the scene or framing is a distraction, though some elements do nothing to add to the scene. Everything leads the viewer to the intended center of interest so you got that part right.
For this scene, a slightly wider angle with smaller aperture with greater DOF may have worked better. Rodney |

I see what you are saying. The focus point was the middle flower. There may have been a breeze, I dont remember. As far as composition, I suppose I could have cut away some of the leaves to take away the distraction. This shot was more of a snapshot, rather than a thought through planned picture. I thought the colors were nice which make me like it.

The pic on the whole looks cool --- i dunno bout the blur clear blur clear or the other way around.
I am posting one image of a Gladiolus taken with my DX6490(kodak)--suggestions & brickbats would be appreciated! |
