Default Guitarman

Please let me know what you think and how I might improve this photo and improve a photo like it in the future.

Thank you in advance for your help and for the sharing of your experience.

Faithfully Yours,

It all depends on what you are trying to convey. Honestly, this photo doesn't really "speak" to me, as I'm not sure what the message is. If the guy was, instead, sitting on an amplifier, deep in thought (like the "The Thinker"), looking at the guitar with notebook and pen in hand, I would conclude that he was hoping for some creative juices. Know what I'm saying? Maybe not. Just my 2 cents.

I was a full time musician (yes, guitar) and in fact spent all day today (as well as yesterday) at the locally held annual Adams Unplugged music festival ( http://www.adamsavenuebusiness.com/A...Unplugged.html ).

Men playing Guitars is like men riding motorcycles - men literally bond to them (and I mean it literally - you "become physically and emotionally one" with the physical entity; the physical entity becomes an extension of the persona).

This photo suggests that the person has disassociated themself with the instrument which results in a quizzical vexation with this viewer.

As such, it is an "anti-thesis" of Guitarman.

I'm not a musician, but sdromel stated exactly what I felt looking at the photo. It just looked odd for there to be so much physical distance between the person and the guitar. Then there is definitely a yellow cast to the image which might be OK if there weren't a person in it but the yellow cast definitely doesn't look good on skin tones.

I would crop out the gravel part of the road in the foreground. As to what I get out of the picture. He is either not serious or has giving up on playing the guitar. Hope that not the case for this young man.
Comments always welcome.
