Hi Guys

How could I improve on this shot, please. I was trying to capture the Bee and the Spider that is in the left of the shot. Taken on my Olympus E-20 with an Olympus Macro lens attatched. I got part of the bee in focus but seemed to loose the clarity on the spider, I am still very new at photography, but as I only have forums to bounce ideas off, I am finding it quite tricky.

Thanks again

Steve

Steve...
What I see in your shot, the DOF is really tight...You have such a small window to get things in focus that you sacrofice one part of the shot for another...The obvious is to shoot the shot with a wider DOF...I dont know anything about your camera but with a DSLR, bumping up the fstop will give you a wider DOF...Another thing, next time, get the bee to turn around and smile... :?

For me, it would have been better if the bee were more in focus. I agree the DOF is too tight

Thanks Again Guys',

I have just started reading about DOF and how to set my camera correctly for this, I will have another crack at it and let you see the results.

P.S It may have to be a different Bee :-):-):-):-)

If you're experimenting with DOF, or want extra information, I've found this web site invaluable. It will eliminate a lot of trial and error:

It pretty neat.
