I took this picture of one of my honey bees last year. I tood it with a HP Photosmart 735... Luckily (not that is was a bad camera) I have upgraded since then!!

Nice picture... I find the background doesn't help this picture because it seemsthe petals on the plant mix with background, also I think that if the plant on the left wasn't there it would add more concentration on the subject.

the flower is overexposed, and the whole image looks a bit out of focus, but that may have been a limitation from your old camera. composition is good, though a very slightly higher angle would have eliminated the white in the bakground. i agree, cropping the flower on the left would help focus attention on the one bloom and the bee...
