Please critique this pic of a bird taken in a Louisiana swamp 60 miles SW of New Orleans.

Hello RDA,
I really love this picture of the Louisiana Heron. Very nice composition and interesting subject. I like the way you captured the bird on the branch looking back instead of thetypical bird standing static looking forward. Not that those aren't beautiful in their own right. I just like seeing something done differently. This tells a story and has movement even thought the bird is in fact standing still. I almost expect him to lung for something. The only thing I might nit pick a tiny little bit would be to tone downthe blue coloring or tint just a little bit . This is just a personal preference on my part. I just tend to like things a little warm. Perhapsadda little bit of contrast. Again, personal preference. Very good picture here. Nice job. ![]() Teree ![]() |

Thanks a lot for your input. He did grab a fish after the snap. I'll warm it up some to see what happens.

Wow, I really love the composition on this picture. It is different from the typical "bird on a branch" picture.

This is a great pict from a very rare angle - downward(?).
All heron shots are made horizontal or upward. No way with which I can manage . Congrat. Chance is high that the original is sharper than what you have shown in a drastically compressed jpg. Daniel RDA 1 wrote: Quote:
