I have NO IDEA on how to shoot video at night

I have NO IDEA on how to shoot video at night, and I had to record this some how, so this is a thunder, lightning and rain storm we had August 28/29 2013

IT was super intense, and lasted for about 3hrs, this is 11 mins of it..

That was some storm, reminds me of the storms when we lived in Lake Charles, LA. As for taking a video at night, other than using a a video light and in your case a strong one, I have no other tips to add.

We get storms like this very rarely.. We get rain like that frequently.. Being the West coast of Canada, we're classed as a temperate rain forest, and torrential
down pours are common.. With it raining as hard as it was, I wasn't about to take my camera into that cr*p. and I didn't have my olympus with me..
