This is a good consistent photo, I'm personnally not a foreground blur fan, but it adds depth, the picture could be "boring" without it, if you know what I mean.

i think you front-focused this one a bit too.. the rocks immediately ahead of the mantis are sharper than it is.. i would have also included less of the foreground, with maybe a slightly higher angle.. slightly..
