All I did was to resize and crank up the saturation a bit. Used a polarizer. Will appreciate your comments.

Really nice Aumma -like the way the light & clouds radiate from the center point. Quite an effective technique, the purple. How long have you been using the 350D and are you happy with it?

i like this one.. the texture is nice and the clouds are interesting..
i did a little crop for you, didnt think that much black foreground was necessary.. then a quick levels edit as you really didnt have true blacks or whites in your original.. then a slight boost in contrast via curves.. very mild sharpening.. nice job! |

I love that sky and the purple effect is nice. I don't like the fact that the silhouettes in the foreground blend into the background/sky too much. If silhouettes are going to be included, I think they need to stand out more against the background.

interesting treatment of the sunset. not sure i like it - i've never been much for purple sunsets - but it's definitely different. what were the original sky colors like?

Steve, thanks for appreciating. You probably know from which point I took that shot. Have used the 350 since May 2005. My first digital cam. Using it to learn more and probably eventually move to another one. For now, quite happy with it.
Dustin, thanks for the edit. Like MJ, am trying to get the best out of the camera. I am sure once that comes right, the pp won't be much of a problem. I took the pieces of advice and tried on them on another post - Sunset in Blue. I think it works. DomCotton, LadyHawk I always look forward to reading your comments. Thanks for making my new year begin well. Squirel033, it was my first shot of the sky in purple. You know trying something new. Kind regards to all of you for looking and commenting. |
