Honestly when I loaded this picture I experienced a reflex as if a bright light hit me in the eyes. My head tilted back and to the side while my eyes squinted. The lighting is very harsh. Overall detail just got wasted by the lighting. Maybe at a different time of day.

I came back and checked it out again after a few thinking maybe it was just me but I got the same reaction as before. I don't want my critique to come off to harsh so don't take it wrong. I'm sure you will get more comments and probably some that prove me completely wrong.

i'm afraid i have to agree, the light is too hot, too harsh. perhaps a different angle would've been helpful? something where the light is less direct, you could still have all the warmth and the dark shadows without feeling the need for sunglasses.

The concept of late in the day light and flowers doesn't sit well with me.

Overall, the effect is harsh.

Well its not blinding like the other but the lighting is just not doing anything for the shot.

exposure tweaks are rather irrelevent when the composition is off.. i am sorry, but i really don't see the appeal to this one.. it lacks any true subject and is way too busy.. its also quite soft and undersaturated.. when in doubt, always simplify first, and then build up your elements from there.. work on getting some great shots of 1 subject, then add another element as your skills improve.. really work on your compositions, shoot a subject from many angles, see what looks aesthetically appealing and what doesn't.. then try to do more of what is pleasing and lessof what is not.. after some time, you will learn to develop that "eye for a shot"..

best of luck
