well i must say this shot is dynamic.. it really jumps out at you.. so the impact factor is really there.. so i must say that it worked.. if there had been a plant, or something green, some moss maybe on that log, i think it would have been awesome.. but it got my attention nevertheless..

yah, its sort of in my face but lacks a point of interest.
|
the point of interest was supposed to be the sharp section of the log.
the hollowed out portion with the leaves and nuts in it. |
I never noticed any nuts in the log.
I just saw the general colors of it, and the defocused edges of it. |
i agree that if this had a more clearly defined focal point it would be a good thing...however i think this works really well. it is a dynamic shot, a lot of color and movement. i like that the log is off center and the "sweet spot" is well placed in the frame. i think if this was enlarged- BIG and hanging on a wall it would look awesome.

Sorry double post

The picture in general jumps at you but it is difficult to place the focal point. The hollow part of the wood, it seems to me, is part of the shot by default rather than by design. Thanks. Jaki.

certainly some nice colours, textures and compositionand interesting interpretation with this lens.
Regarding thelens-baby, I think you really need to have a definitive, recognized focal point and subject to get the most out of it. added, however more I'm looking , more I'm liking. |
