i like the idea.. just wish the white "popped" a little more.. the shadows falling across the back hurt it a bit.. maybe a little bit higher exposure will give you the brilliant white you are going for... but i do love these types of shots.. so i will be looking forward to it!

yeah it was tricky afternoon sunlight, i threw the black drape over a chair and shot hand-held. i have different exposures but the highlights are kinda blown....i'll play around, if anything is better i'll post.....thank you for commenting dustin and In Search of Syd.

Afternoon Sunlight? Well ok maybe so but I keep looking at these Flower Pics of yours now and I keep forgetting it's Winter and freezing outside LOL.

afternoon sunlight through my kitchen window in my somewhat heated house LOL. my kids would love another snowday this friday....at least when it snows it seems to warm up a bit

Julies, wonderful. when you say drape is it a special kind of drape. How does one obtain a complete black background like you have done.

this black background is just a large piece of black felt i got from a local craft store. very inexpensive. just make sure there is a little distance between subject and background when shooting.
