As I said, I posted this in stupid pet tricks but no one seems to have any comments in that forum so I'm going to try it over here. Sorry if it just doesn't warrant comment and I'm wasting space...:angry:

Grady, that's a beautiful dog. I don't think the busy background, particularly the reflection ball adds anything to the picture. I've taken the liberty of cropping out everything but the dog.

I agree, the eye is drawn to the silver ball, not the dog. If the dog is the focus of the photo, try making it the main attraction.

i agree.. a beautiful dog such as that shouldn't have to fight for attention in a picture.. why don't you try to find a simple, uncluttered background.. get down to the same level as the dog.. and try something with a larger aperature (i.e. f5.6ish), so just the dog is in focus and let the background blur out..
