G'day SteveDak,
nice bug pic again. I am not overly experience in the ways of photographs and what is technically right or wrong, still learning that. And I usually go by eye. I have to say it would be good if you could take the moth out of the picture and change the background to something different. But that is asking a bit. Anyway the background for me leaves much to desire. I take it was taken inside on your carpet? Nice(from my POV) definition on the moth as a whole. A few weird ghosting lines along the wing. Probably something else I need to learn about. Anyway good job no PP needed either lol Ollie ![]() |

Thanks Ollie - agreed, the background sucks. Might have a go at replacing it with a solid over the weekend. Flooring is ceramic.

I would try replacing that background with a solid. That ceramic floor doesn't work well.

the background kills it for me as well, also i think your lighting could be improved.. try working with a dead moth and some different light setups.. they are easier to work with and you can take your time and try out some different angles and backgrounds..

if you dont want to get em all wet or disintergrated form bug spray you can catch em and throw em in a container with a bit of dry ice (with the ice seperated) The CO2 will knock em out. Its like a roofie for insects. Pose em around for a while. They wake up and dont remember a thing.......
Happy shooting. |
